ROCKWELL:

Tom Green aka Rockwell has without doubt been one of the most exhilarating talents to emerge from the drum & bass scene in recent times. His diverse sound has seen him release on the likes of Digital Soundboy, Renegade Hardware, CriDcal and now as an exclusively signed artist to Friction’s Shogun Audio imprint.

2012 saw the release of a slew of dance floor destroyers including the critically acclaimed ‘Tripwire’ however, it was the release of ‘Childhood Memories’ supported by Zane Lowe (Next Hype), Annie Mac, Mistajam & Chase & Status amongst others which really announced Rockwell as an exciting new force in electronic music.

Scroll forward to 2013 & the release of ‘Detroit’ shook the scene, and has already been hailed the D&B track of 2013. The groundbreaking slice of future funk received accolades from Mixmag who made it their ‘Tune Of The Month’ (which was Rockwell’s 2nd tune of the month) & DJ Mag who made it their ‘Killer Track’. Support has come from across the spectrum from Machinedrum and Amon Tobin to D&B heavyweights such as Andy C, Friction & Sub Focus.

‘Detroit’ has received unprecedented success on BBC Radio 1 picking up over 50 plays including Mistajam’s ‘Jam Hot’, Friction’s ‘Fire’ & Zane Lowe’s ‘Future Sound’. Rockwell also has the honour of being the only artist in history to break the subs at Radio 1! In Zane Lowe’s own words… “It blew our bass bin! This is ridiculous, a phenomenal slice of Drum & Bass”.

Having spent years honing his skills presenting the Shogun Audio radio shows on Rinse FM and Ministry Of Sound Radio, July 2013 saw Rockwell announced as part of BBC Radio 1’s ‘In New DJ’s We Trust’ roster. This prodigious assignment propelled Rockwell to the forefront of UK dance music and is the perfect platform to showcase his forward thinking take on beats, bass & everything in between.

Not only an in demand producer, his remixes have been going down a storm as well. With re-fixes in the bag for SpectraSoul’s ‘S.O.U.R’, Neosignal’s ‘Planet Online’, which was Mixmag’s tune of the month, and Shogun head honcho Friction & Skream’s ‘Kingpin’ keeping him hard at work in the studio.

As formidable as a DJ as he is as a producer Rockwell’s sets have been lighting up clubs & festivals all over the world from Amnesia, Fabric, The Boiler Room, Parklife, Dour, Urban Art Forms, Audioriver & Glastonbury amongst others. His increasing tendacy to drop a Rustie or a Baauer track amongst his hi-octane drum & bass, truly sets him apart from the rest.

Press support has come from across the board including Resident Advisor and FACT who have featured Rockwell in extensive interviews, in early 2013 Rockwell dropped a UKF podcast which has gone on to become one of the most downloaded ever. As well as his UKF Podcast, he recently unleashed a beautifully crafted ‘Daily Dose’ mix for Mistajam on Radio 1Xtra & a lethal mini mix for Annie Mac.

For now, his tune ‘Sick Of It All’ is set to tear up dance floor’s around the world which is coming soon on Shogun Audio’s ‘Way Of The Warrior 2’. With this in mind, he is merely teasing us for what he has in store next year, his debut album…
